summer in march

you may have heard (if you don’t live in eastern ontario or western quebec) that we’ve been having a little bit of a heat wave here. So instead of our usual few feet of snow and hovering around zero temperatures, we’ve been basking in a luxurious 20+ degrees for the last few days.

So of course, we had a glorious weekend.

next apartment project: photo wall

Mar 12 2012 Published by under art, goings on

the previous tenants in our lovely new apartment had some sort of drill addiction. Or maybe it they just felt like the walls need to breathe. Whatever the case, our apartment is full of holes. SO MANY HOLES! 13 in the living room alone, in case you are counting (which I am).

And rather than patching those holes and then painting the whole place again (hi! I’m not THAT bored), we are up to our necks in plans to cover the holes.

One such plan involves covering 12 (12!) holes unevenly spaced above our TV + fancy new credenza. Since our living room is mostly black and white, we’re looking at a photo wall as a serious option. So I’ve been browsing pinterest for ideas. These ones are some of our favourites.

on the move…again

oh hi! nice to see you all! You might not recognize me as I’m currently buried up to my neck in boxes and packing paper, but once I return to normal life, I’m going to be way more fun. I promise.

But in the meantime, here’s a series of pretty things from our new place (or soon to be featured in…) to keep you entertained.

Fancy Woolen Blanket in Turquoise Tweed
(get your own from Macausland’s Woolen Mills)

My macausland's blanket arrived!

Shiny New Kitchen
There will be greatness that happens here, I promise.

Hooray for shiny bright kitchens!

Brand new credenza!
(new circa 1950- or 1970-something depending on who you ask)

*finally* our new piece of furniture is here!

GT Rocker
There are no real words to describe how much I love this chair.
New chair day!

Also on their way are these other goodies (we went a little crazy, I’ll admit, but we love our new place SO much we just had to upgrade some of our older pieces):
