Having worked with the web and multimedia stuff for a long time, it was interesting today to discover Digiquaria, developed by the lovely Kibook, which is developed in Shockwave/Director. The web-trend lately has been leaning towards flash, so it’s nice to see something as beautiful as the evolvers return to something I’m much more fond of.
Don’t get me wrong — Flash is great — but there’s something to be said about how the over-popularity of a tool sometimes diminshes the impact (or appreciation) that you can really give it.
I’ve been following Benjamin Wagner for a while….his music and his writing. But, in the last few weeks, I seem to have forgotten that he existed at all. So, while combing through a massive collection of links this afternoon, his site and I played a bit of catch up.
There’s something about his writing style that appeals to me. It’s so decriptive that it paints a good picture in my own mind of the thoughts he’s attempted to put into words (and we all know the two |thoughts, words| don’t necessarily translate back and forth easily).
Listening to Nic Harcourt’s Sounds Eclectic right now (via KCRW). Good way to pass a morning. Check out the archives.
