I’ve been leash-training the kittens. So far, it’s working. They like the front step. Like stepping on ant-hills and trying to figure out where all of the little chasey bugs come from. Surprisingly little wriggling in leash halters has occurred.

As can often be predicted, the usual spins and needles crowd was out in force wednesday night at the clocktower. It was so busy at one point that people were sitting on the FLOOR eating food, drinking beer and crafting.

It’s great to finally see this event getting a real following – for a while, there were good nights (read: busy but not packed) and okay nights (think bridgehead at 10pm kind of crowded). Now there’s a real juggle for space….want a seat? Make sure you show up at 8.

I’m starting to get into a groove where I can bring projects I can really *work* on, instead of projects that I’ll fidget with for a bit before getting distracted. Lately, though, I’m really into checking out what other people are working on…this month was all about knitting for me, but around my table tonight were a bunch of cool ideas – more knitting, some arty people-sketching, ‘nutritional value’ cork coasters, paper boxes made out of maps, and crafty planning. It’s great to see such a wide variety of things come together in one place. Crafty-bonding over beer.

Now if only my new ideas were pub-bringable. I think they’ll all be studio-bound, instead.

Lately…

Ideas are floating around in my head like mad. More bags, some bedding, and other assorted odds and ends. My current obsession: bedding. *Affordable* stylish bedding.

So, to keep things moving while I’m immersed in crafty things and being generally busy, here’s some stuff to keep you occupied:

• third grade? pshaw. a few lucky guesses got me all the way through to the end of this test.
• I’ve been a bit designsponge obsessive today. These are really pretty, as are these and these and these.
• I’ve been making over my inbox in an effort to (a) clean up my hard drive, (b) clean up my hard drive to make room for creative suite 2 (!!), and (c) clean up my freaking inbox already. I’m tempted to abandon ship and use mail.app, it’s so bad.
• To make up for all of the avocado murdering I’ve done this summer, I’m growing (or attempting to grow) an avocado plant. I really really hope it works.
• It seems like *everybody* has an opinion about Per Se abolishing tipping.
• How much will it take to kill you? Ask the Caffiene Calculator.
• Hey look! Internet celebrity John Davis! Josh Davis! Josh Davis!. *heart*
• who does *not* find this *stay connected to your significant other if you’re apart for more than five minutes* bracelet CREEEEEEEPY??
• Woot woot! Doves tour stops in Montreal. Phew. :)

The terror twins (as I have taken to calling them) have discovered the upstairs. This morning, two plaintive paws were shoved under my bedroom door with accompanying “mrow!’s” almost as if they hadn’t been fed for weeks. What they wanted? To come and jump on my bed. And chase my shaker eggs, which they’ve recently decided are their new favourite toys. They like to hide them under the bed.

They’ll be with us for two more weeks because of some residual sniffles. I would have liked a kitty break (24 cats in under a year is a lot of cats to foster), but it’s nice to have them around at the same time. Without kitties…..no one ever comes to visit.

In other news, lana called it quits over at place & thyme yesterday. The mere existence of P&T has been a bright spot in my day for the last year or so…..and I’m sure I’m not alone. I’m going to miss the photos and the cat-ness, but it’s for all of the right reasons. Thanks, Lana!
