…much like everybody’s pant legs. And our shoes.
I have the mid-winter I think I need a vacation blahs, so I’ve been satiating myself with the internet in the meantime. I have been spending an awful lot of time coveting wallpaper, admiring my new threadless tees, flickring favourites, imagining pretty colours, working on lots of client work, dreaming of kittens (there are none to be had!), reading and drinking tea in the bath, plotting the design of my cosies for the Egg Cosy Swap, listening to new music from the arctic monkeys, cat power, the jessica fletchers, and mostly just trying to ignore the fact that it’s -20 outside.

Not much to update you with these days – I’ve got my head in the clouds. The comma key on my keyboard is on strike (ps – taking powerbook keyboards apart doesn’t make them better) and winter has unfortunately returned with a renewed desire to make us all cold and miserable for a few more weeks. I still have yet to lace up my skates and hit the canal. Maybe soon…

The above two photos are of a chair I found on Friday when I stopped at Value Village on my way home – on a bit of a whim really. Once I saw it I couldn’t give it up. It HAD to come home with me. Of course…getting it into my car was no small feat….but after that it was hardly a struggle…I have completely fallen for it and it seems to be in absolutely lovely shape. The upholstery is immaculate and the frame is still extra solid. It was obviously well cared for in it’s former life.

I also got another lovely present on friday – I’ve been taking part in some of the swaps over at purplepinkandorange and my February swap package arrived in the mail – this month’s theme was leftover craft items. My swap partner Colleen has totally spoiled me! Thanks Colleen! This huuuuge collection of fabric, paper scraps, post cards, stamps, a book on beaded handbags, a photo album and a ton of other stuff was a little unexpected, but most welcome. I can’t wait to craft stuff from this new collection of odds and ends.

dear air canada,
did you know it’s not cool to change only one person’s itinerary when three people are travelling?
huh. thought not.
love,

dear winter,
thanks for coming back, yo. I was worried that summer was going to be a billion degrees warmer if you kept up all that +6 in February crap. And last year was hot enough.
Though if you’re taking suggestions, I could have done without the mini-everything-turns-to-ice fest last week. But hey, one out of two isn’t so bad.
brr.

dear mr. bus driver,
for the record, that new-ish yield law? That doesn’t mean that when you discover you’re in the wrong lane that you can cut me off. It just means we’re supposed to stop for you if you want to get back into traffic.
So that part this morning where I gave you the finger because you forced me into a choice between driving into oncoming traffic and getting run over by a bus? Yeah, I really meant that.
no really, i meant it.
xo

dear rogers cable,
it has come to my attention that no matter how often you send me junk mail about cable, i am still not going to get a tv. And if I did, I reaaaaaaallllly wouldn’t get your “personal tv” package so that I could listen to the rogers cable jazz channel. As if.
But I think the people downstairs heart tv. Why don’t you try them?
Save the trees!
