In other news:
Busy busy busy busy busy busy busy busy.
AND going on vacation in two weeks.
Will return to scheduled programming oh….in March.
Work is crazy. Life is crazy. I spend more time than I would care to think about sitting in my office, staring at the same pile of papers over and over, willing them to edit themselves (and oh, while they’re at it, write the french translations, already). But for all of the chaos, I really do love going in there every day, and that is really 3/4 of the battle with work than anyone faces, isn’t it? Also, I get unreasonably excited about concerts, which helps.
But despite loving it, the busy-busy-busy mode of it all makes me a little crazy. Like that time that I woke up, thought I was terribly late for work, sent an email saying so, and that I would be in soon, and only THEN realized that it was Sunday, not Monday. Right. Oh! And that was this morning. Four more weeks until the insanity ends and I board a sailboat bound for nowhere in the middle of the ocean. Let me tell you, I am looking forward to that day (and not just because I almost walked to work on a Sunday morning thinking I was going to be very late for my first meeting)!
Have any embarrassing work stories to share? I could use some company here, in “I was so eager to go to work I didn’t even need my whole weekend”-land!
So, without further ado, let me introduce you to Ella and Miles.
Mr. Miles, who you see above, is quite happy to be living with us at the moment, especially since he has a cat cold and feels like, well, a kitten with a cat cold. He is not a happy camper, but he does quite like his giant flannel cat bed.
Ella, seen below, is just happy in general. Say her name, and you will hear her purring from across the room. Pick her up and lay her on her back, and she will happily groom herself (and you) for ages. She is a little bit sick, but not sick enough that we have to keep telling her to stop biting her brother’s neck, already, he is NOT FEELING WELL.
In other news, Happy New Year! Last year was my year of extraordinary change. This year is the year of taking more pictures, making more food, and spending as many evenings as possible skiing up giant hills, or crammed onto a tiny sailboat. All equally wonderful.
