- Angus coming out of his shell. Just barely, but he’s almost there. He still spooks himself, but he is out from under the bathtub, and whining that we are not paying him enough attention. I would say…improvement!
- Riding 20K a couple of times a week. You will be sore, but happy you did it and that brett nagged you in to it.
- Sail sharing (really, people, why are you not doing it too?).
- Kicking brett’s butt at our sailing exam.
- Getting ready for the last concert of the season (the NAC Orchestra’s season is the longest by FAR of ANYTHING else we put on at the NAC).
- That same concert being almost sold out! (What we marketers live for, really.)
- New soccer cleats.
- Fresh cherries.
- Lettuce you grew in your own back yard.
- Summer dresses.
Really, that’s all I need to make it through the rest of June.
Other than that, it’s busy busy busy. Work is madness. Non-work is madness and in-between, I try to squeeze in everything else!
Join us at the NAC, at the Elgin & Queen St. entrance (the one that leads down to the canal!) for some crafting, and some snoozy public “art” in the sun.
Z’s by the C: A public napping project
By Eric Moschopedis & Mia Rushton
Presented by Magnetic North Theatre Festival in association with SAW Gallery, Z’s by the C invites Ottawa residents to playfully defy the division between public and private spaces through the intimate act of napping. During this three day outdoor participatory project, come personalize a sleeping mask using simple crafting techniques before covering your eyes and dozing off in the city. By creating safe sleeping zones throughout the downtown core, Eric Moschopedis and Mia Rushton, seek to legitimize public napping for everyone under the aegis of art – just sweet public dreams!

Some key highlights:
- I did not throw up (this one was pretty important).
- Brett almost lost the winch handle, but we SAVED it. Thank god for the triangle-method, and crew overboard drills.
- May is still really freaking cold – yesterday I wore two tanktops, one long sleeved shirt, my cross country ski jacket, a nylon windbreaker AND a lifejacket. And I was still cold. See also: mittens.
- I think I am a knot-nerd. I can tie them all.
- People who are out sailing with their fenders down look ridiculous.
Now, to write the exam. So much to memorize!
