I have been attempting (and sometimes briefly failing) to go gluten free. For a variety of boring, personal reasons – that I won’t go into here – it just seemed like it might be the right thing to try at the right time.

And while going gluten free is not always easy, it IS a good chance to explore some recipes I might not have otherwise put in my repertoire. Like flourless chocolate cake (ingredients pictured above), short ribs (my dad would be proud), and the whole collection of other things I’ve been stashing away over on Pinterest.

So far so good (I feel great!) but it’s not always easy (I miss you, bread! beer! and pastry!). Thankfully I really love vegetables and other non-wheaty things, too.

finally back to sewing regularly and plowing though a commissioned project for a soon-to-arrive baby. Lots of fun, and lots of fabric!

As a marketer, I loved this smart campaign from Ottawa race weekend. Who doesn’t want to beat last year’s time?

But as a runner…ack! A winter of not really training, repetitive injuries and a distinct preference for spinning and skiing over boring boring treadmilling means I was so not ready to even think about this race.

I can definitely improve my time….but do i really want to sign up? Run the 5? The 10? I’m so not sure.
